CߧVôL JÚ úLs®: BiPYÚûPV YN]jûRl ©W£jRlTÓjÕ¡\YoL°u ªÏ§Vô] áhPj§p Sôu CÚd¡ú\]ô?

“Her story" in History

 

Recently when I was involved in a personal evangelistic effort with an elderly woman, I was surprised to see how she was enthusiastically promoting some herbal products for which she was a sales agent. While I finally said, “Bye”, she gave her final thrust on me to buy and try those products!  In general, women are good in promotional work. They are good in proclaiming news. They talk and communicate well. They are a lot more vocal than men! They are even pulled down by men with a remark that they cannot keep a secret. This is a primary reason behind this verse penned by poet David when he said, “The Lord announces the word, and the women who proclaim it are a mighty throng.” (Psalm 68:11) It referred to the women who, with music, songs, and dances, celebrated the victories of the Israelites over their enemies. The publication of good news, or of any joyful event, belonged to the women. But unfortunately many of this mighty throng of women’s stories have not been recorded. If recorded, they go unnamed. If named, they go unrecognized. The thrust of this article is therefore for us to write the “her-stories” of women, also naming and recognizing them.

The whole of Bible has a great number of named, unnamed women who proclaimed the good news. Some of these unnamed women include the little heroine who was a slave girl, but was the reason behind the healing and saving of Naaman, the unnamed Samaritan woman who proclaimed about Jesus to her village and brought them to the saving knowledge of Christ. Some named women include, Anna, the 84 year old widow who kept telling about the Saviour to people living in her time, little Rhoda, the one who shared the good news of an answered prayer to the group of believers who were praying in particular for the deliverance of Peter from the jail, Mary Magdalene, Mary, the mother of  James and Joses, Salome and Joanna who shared the good news of his resurrection to his disciples. Taking into consideration the great hosts of women who down the lane in the history of the church have worked hard to proclaim the gospel, I have always imagined heaven to be a place filled with a mighty throng of women!

In India there have been a multitude of Bible women and Zenana missionaries (The Zenana missionaries in the past were women missionaries from other countries, who went to Indian women in their own homes and did personal evangelism) who have toiled hard to sow the gospel in our hard soil. Not many of them have found their place in the records of the Indian church history. In our present days, the number of women who proclaim God’s word has sharply increased. Therefore, it is high time that we start documenting the lives of this mighty throng of women. They could be missionaries, evangelists, pastors, preachers, Bible-teachers or women in any profession who took/take time to proclaim the Word. Come, let us start writing and telling about these unsung heroines to the world. Writing about them helps to inspire the future generation to follow the legacy of giving the gospel by all means and fighting all odds.  If we have been inspired by the lives of Pandita Ramabai, Ida Scudder, Amy Carmichael, Mother Teresa, let us take time to write about the many other women (not necessarily need to be women who have established mega-establishments like the ones I have mentioned) who worked/are working in our Indian soil. புத்தாண்டில் புது வாழ்வு

புத்தாண்டிற்கு புத்துணர்ச்சியைத் தரும் ஐந்து பெண்களின் பெயர்களை மத்தேயு இயேசுவின் பிறப்பின் கதைக்கு ஒட்டிக் குறிப்பிடுகின்றார். அதிலும் குறிப்பாக தவறான/சவால்கள் நிறைந்த‌ கடந்த காலங்களைக் கொண்ட அவர்களை பற்றிக் குறிப்பிடுவதன் மூலம் அவர் வேதாகமத்தின் வேறெந்த வம்ச வரலாற்றிலும் இல்லாத ஒன்றை செய்துள்ளார்.

தாமார்

யூதாவின் மூத்த மகன் ஏரின் விதவையான தாமார், அவனுடைய இரண்டாவது மகன் ஓனானால் ஏமாற்றப்பட்டாள். இரண்டு மகன்களுமே தாமாருக்கு செய்ய வேண்டிய கடமைகளை நிறைவேற்றாததால், தேவ ஆக்கினையால் தான் மரித்தனர். எனவே யூதாவின் மூன்றாவது மகனான சேலா, கட்டளைபடி தாமாரை மணந்து கொள்ள நிர்பந்தம் இருந்தாலும் அவன் அவளைத் திருமணம் செய்யவில்லை. யூதாவும் இச்சமயத்தில் அவனது மனைவியை இழந்தான். இதைத் தொடர்ந்து நடந்த சில சூழ்ச்சியான சம்பவங்களால், வேசியைத் தேடிச் சென்ற அவன்  அறியாமலே அவன் மருமகளான தாமாரோடு உடலுறவு வைத்தான். அதை தொடர்ந்த சுவாரஸ்யமான திருப்பங்களால் யூதா தன்னால் தான் அவள் மருமகள் கர்ப்பமானாள் என்று அறிந்தான். தன்னுடைய மூன்றாம் மகனை தாமாருக்குத் தராததால் நிகழ்ந்த பாவச் செயலில் அவள் தன்னை விட நீதியுள்ளவள் என்றுக் கூறினான். தாமார் வாரிசு ஒன்றை பெற்று விட வேண்டும் என்று அவள் பார்வைக்கு நல்ல‌ காரியம் போன்றிருந்த ஒரு இலக்கை அடைவதற்காக தேவப் பிரமாணத்தை மீறினாள். கதையின் நல்ல முடிவு என்னவென்றால் தவறை உணர்ந்த யூதா மீண்டும் அத்தவற்றை செய்யவில்லை. தாமாரும் விதவையாக தன் பின்னாட்களில் வாழ்ந்தாள். (ஆதியாகமம் 38)

நம்முடைய கடந்த காலத்தில் எத்தனை மோசமான பாவங்களிலே நாம் சிக்கியிருந்தாலும், அதை உணர்ந்து திரும்ப செய்யாதிருக்கும் போது ஒளிமயமான எதிர்காலம் நமக்குண்டு. விபசாரத்தில் பிடிபட்ட பாவியான ஸ்திரீயிடம் இயேசு சொன்னது என்ன? "இனி பாவஞ்செய்யாதே" என்பதே. தாமாரின் பெயர் இயேசுவின் முன்தோன்றலாகப் பதிவாகியிருப்பது நமக்கு புத்துணர்வைத் தருகின்றதல்லவா?

ராகாப்

ராகாப் எரிகோ பட்டணத்தில் வாழ்ந்த ஒரு வேசியாவாள். ஆனால் அந்நாட்களில் இருந்த உலக நடப்புகளைப் பற்றி அவள் நன்றாக அறிந்திருந்த ஞானி அவள். மோசேயுடன் விடுதலைப் பயணத்தில் வந்து கொண்டிருந்த இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களை அவர்களின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் வழிநடத்திய விதங்களை சரியாக கணித்து வைத்திருந்த அவள் எரிகோவை உளவு பார்க்க வந்தவர்களை சமாதானத்தோடே தன் வீட்டில் ஏற்றுக் கொண்டாள் (எபிரேயர் 11:31). அவளும், அவள் குடும்பத்தினரும் அழியாதிருக்க, இஸ்ரேலிய வேவுகாரர் அவளுக்கு ஒரு வழியைக் கற்றுக் கொடுத்தனர். வேவுகாரரின் தெய்வத்துடைய வல்லமையை அறிந்த அவள் அதற்கு செவிகொடுத்து குடும்பத்தோடு ஆக்கினைக்குத் தப்பித்துக் கொண்டாள். ராகாப் பின்னர் தேவனுக்குப் பயந்த சல்மோனைத் திருமணம் செய்து கொண்டாள். (யோசுவா 2&6)

கடந்த காலத் துன்பங்களில் சிக்கித் தவிக்கும் நமக்கு தப்பும் வழியை ஆண்டவர் நமக்குத் தராமல் இருந்ததில்லை. "மனுஷருக்கு நேரிடுகிற சோதனையேயல்லாமல் வேறே சோதனை உங்களுக்கு நேரிடவில்லை. தேவன் உண்மையுள்ளவராயிருக்கிறார்; உங்கள் திராணிக்கு மேலாக நீங்கள் சோதிக்கப்படுகிறதற்கு அவர் இடங்கொடாமல், சோதனையைத் தாங்கத்தக்கதாக, சோதனையோடுகூட அதற்குத் தப்பிக்கொள்ளும்படியான போக்கையும் உண்டாக்குவார்." (1 கொரிந்தியர் 10:13). "நானே வழி" என்று சொன்ன அவர் நம்மை நாம் பயப்படும் அழிவுகளினின்று காப்பார். கடவுள் கொடுத்த வழியில் தப்பிச் சென்றதால் தான், ராகாப் இயேசுவின் வம்ச வழியில் இடம் பெற்றாள்.

ரூத்

ஆண்கள் இல்லாமல் மூன்று விதவைகள் மாத்திரம் குடியிருக்கும் ஒரு வீட்டை கடந்த கால பாவ வாழ்க்கையின் விளைவு என்று விமர்சிப்பது எளிது. அதில் ஒருவளான ரூத் வேறு தெய்வ வழிபாட்டின் பின்ணணியத்திலிருந்து வந்திருந்தாலும் இன்னொரு சொந்த மகனைத் தரக்கூடாத அவள் மாமியாரையும், ஆனால் அவள் மூலம் அறிந்து வைத்திருந்த சர்வ வல்ல தேவனையும் விசுவாசத்தோடுப் பற்றிக் கொண்டாள். இந்த வித்தியாசமான, விசுவாசமான‌ முடிவு தான் ரூத்திற்கு போவாசின் மூலம் மகிழ்ச்சியான எதிர்காலத்தைப் பெற்றுத் தந்தது.

நம்பிக்கை இழந்த நம்முடைய கடந்த கால சம்பவங்களில் நம்பிக்கை ஒளி வீச, நம்பிக்கை நாதரான இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் மேல் நம் கஷ்டமான சூழலிலும் விசுவாசம் வைக்க வேண்டும். அவர் நம் வாழ்வில் நாம் எதிர்பார்த்திராத புதிய திருப்பு முனைகளை கொண்டு வருவார். ரூத் தாவீது ராஜாவின் பாட்டியானதோடு இயேசுவின் முற்பாட்டியுமானாள்!

பத்சேபாள்

சர்வ வல்லமை படைத்த தாவீது அரசனின் இச்சையால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவள் தான் பத்சேபாள். இந்த இச்சையின் இம்சையால் தன் அப்பாவியான கணவனை கோரமாக இழந்து தாவீதோடே ஏகோபித்த பாவியானாள். தான் பாவி என்று தாவீது தேவ வார்த்தையால் உணர்த்தப்பட்டான். சங்கீதம் 51 ல் உள்ள பாவ மன்னிப்பின் ஜெபத்தை தாவீது செய்த போது பத்சேபாளும் அவனுடன் முழ்ந்தாளிட்டு அவனுடன் பாவத்தை அறிக்கையிட்டாள் என்றால் அது மிகையாகாது.

"தன் பாவங்களை மறைக்கிறவன் வாழ்வடையமாட்டான்; அவைகளை அறிக்கை செய்து விட்டுவிடுகிறவனோ இரக்கம் பெறுவான்" (நீதிமொழிகள் 28:13) என்ற வசனத்தின் பிரகாரம் கடந்த கால பாவ வாழ்க்கையை அறிக்கையிடுகிற யாருக்கும் ஒளிமயமான எதிர்காலம் உண்டு என்பதில் சந்தேகம் ஏதுமில்லை. பத்சேபாளும் இயேசுவின் பாட்டியாகி அவரின் வம்சப் பட்டியலில் இடம் பெற்றாள்.

மரியாள்

திருமணமாகமலே கர்ப்பமான மரியாளை ஒருவருக்கும் தெரியாமலே விவாக ரத்து செய்ய அவள் வருங்கால கணவனான யோசேப்பு முடிவு செய்தான் (மத்தேயு 1:19. இறைவார்த்தைக்கு கீழ்படிந்ததாலே கெட்ட பெயரையும், கர்ப்பத்தோடு ஏளனத்தையும் சுமக்கும் அவல நிலை ஏற்பட்டது. அவள் கர்ப்பமானது பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரின் வித்தாலே என்றத் தெளிவை அவருடைய தூதன் மூலம் யோசேப்பு பெற்ற பின் அவன் மரியாளுக்கும் அவள் பெற்ற தெய்வக் குழந்தைக்கும் பராமரிப்பும் பாதுகாப்பும் அளித்தான். நிந்தை மொழி பேசும் மக்களிடமிருந்து மரியாளைக் காப்பாற்றினான்.

இறை வார்த்தைக்கு கீழ்படிந்ததால் நிந்தையையும் ஏளனத்தையும் நாம் சுமந்திருக்கலாம். கெட்ட பெயரைப் பெற்றிருக்கலாம். நம்மை உதறித் தள்ள உத்தேசித்தவர்களிடம் கடவுள் யார் மூலமாவது பேசி அவர்கள் மூலமாகவே நமக்கு நல்ல பெயரையும், பாதுகாப்பையும், மகிமையான எதிர் காலத்தையும் ஏற்படுத்தித் தருவார்.
